The Open Grid Forum (OGF) is an organization that resulted from the merger of the Global Grid Forum (GGF) and the Enterprise Grid Alliance (EGA). For more information on the history of OGF, visit the "About OGF" page.

The EGA was formed in 2004 to focus exclusively on accelerating grid adoption in enterprise data centers. The EGA addressed obstacles that organizations face in using enterprise grids through open, interoperable solutions and best practices. The alliance published the above documents, which OGF inherited as part of the merger. The EGA also significantly raised awareness worldwide of enterprise grid requirements through highly effective marketing programs and regional operations in Europe and Asia.
